Turn modern technology into a shared experience your group will love

Learn Together

No one feels "behind" when everyone's learning at the same time. Questions become conversations, and wins get celebrated by the whole group.

Share Real Experiences

Hear how others use AI for travel, health, family communication, and share your own discoveries. Real stories make abstract concepts concrete.

Support Each Other

When someone gets stuck, others help. When someone succeeds, everyone cheers. The group becomes its own ongoing support system.

Sample Questions from Week 2 (Safety):

Group Norms & Safety Reminders

A short list of "house rules" to read at your first meeting.

Sample Group Norms:

  • Be kind and patient, we’re all learning
  • No question is “too basic”
  • Mistakes are expected and welcome
  • Protect each other’s privacy. Don’t share personal details outside the group
  • AI is helpful, not perfect, so always double-check health, money, and legal questions with professionals

How the Book Club Program Works

For the Leader

You don’t need to be a tech expert or experienced facilitator. Our materials do the heavy lifting.

  • Before Meeting 1: Read the Leader's Guide (5 minutes), print discussion questions
  • Each Week: Review questions (5 minutes), facilitate discussion (60-90 min)
  • That's it: No lesson plans to write, no tech demos to prepare

For Group Members

Members just need their copy of the book and willingness to try something new.

  • Between meetings: Read assigned chapters at your own pace
  • During meetings: Share thoughts, ask questions, try activities together
  • Optional: Practice exercises at home and report your experiences back to the group

Your Role:

Keep the conversation flowing, make everyone feel welcome, and ensure the group stays safe with privacy reminders. You’re hosting, not teaching.

Built for Mixed Abilities:

Some members will zoom ahead. Others will move slowly. The discussion format works because we learn by listening and sharing, not just doing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about running this program in your book club

Do I need to be a tech expert to lead this book club?

No. The book is written in plain English, and so are the discussion questions. You’re facilitating conversation, not teaching technology. Your role is to:

  • Keep discussions on track and inclusive
  • Make sure everyone feels welcome to participate
  • Remind the group about privacy and safety guidelines

The book does the teaching. You do the hosting.

This is normal and expected. The discussion format actually works well with mixed abilities because:

  • Beginners can learn by listening to others’ experiences
  • Advanced members can share tips and help others
  • Everyone contributes at their own level

Our accessibility tips include strategies for keeping everyone engaged, regardless of their starting point.

Most groups meet for 60-90 minutes. Here’s a typical format:

  • 10 minutes: Welcome, recap of last week
  • 30-40 minutes: Discussion of assigned chapters
  • 20-30 minutes: Group practice activity (optional)
  • 5-10 minutes: Preview next week’s reading, closing

The Leader’s Guide includes flexible timing suggestions.

Yes! Many groups meet online successfully. The materials work the same way. Tips for virtual book clubs:

  • Send discussion questions ahead of time via email
  • Use screen sharing for group practice activities
  • Give people time to unmute and respond (don’t rush)
  • Consider breakout rooms for larger groups

This happens and it’s completely fine. Here’s what to do:

  • “That’s a great question—does anyone in the group know?”
  • “Let’s mark that down and research it together for next week”
  • “The book addresses that in Chapter X—we can look it up”
  • “I’m not sure, but here’s where you can find the answer…” (point to free Facebook group or book index)

Remember: You’re not expected to have all the answers. Part of the learning experience is figuring things out together.

Most groups either:

  1. Have members buy their own copies and we send free materials to the leader, or
  2. The organization buys books in bulk and distributes them.

If you need something different, please ask. We do what we can to be helpful.

While members can use any format they prefer, we strongly recommend the print version for book clubs because:

  • Page numbers match across all print copies (easier to say “turn to page 47”)
  • The large 8.5″ x 11″ format is easier to reference during discussions
  • Members can make notes in the margins
  • It lies flat for practice exercises

That said, if some members need e-books for accessibility reasons (text-to-speech, extreme large print),  or other preferences, that works fine too.

Perfect! There’s plenty of content. Options include:

  • Extended series: Meet for 8-10 weeks and go deeper into favorite chapters
  • Ongoing group: After finishing the book, continue meeting to share tips and help each other
  • Repeat sessions: Some chapters (like scam prevention) benefit from periodic review

Many groups evolve into informal “AI hobby groups” where members continue supporting each other.

Currently, all materials are in English only. However, if your group includes bilingual members, they can translate discussion questions or provide support in their shared language during meetings.

Absolutely! The materials are yours to use however works best for your group. Many leaders:

  • Add their own questions based on group interests
  • Skip activities that don’t fit their format
  • Combine or split chapters differently than suggested
  • Create custom handouts for their specific community

Think of our materials as a strong starting point you can adapt as needed.

This is common with any series. Strategies that help:

  • Send reminder emails 2 days before each meeting
  • Create a buddy system (pairs check in with each other)
  • Make it easy to drop in mid-series (recap at the start)
  • Keep meetings at the same day/time for consistency
  • Serve light refreshments if possible (people come for the community)

Pro tip: Groups with the best retention make it clear that missing a week is fine. No pressure or guilt.

Yes. When you receive your Book Club Starter Pack, you’ll also get:

  • Access to email support (questions about materials, facilitation tips)
  • Invitation to join the free Facebook community where leaders can connect
  • Updates about new activities or resources we create

You’re not on your own! We’re here to help your group succeed.

If you just want the starter materials, they are all yours, as long as you hit the 10-book minimum eventually.

To get the discount, you need to order 10+ books at once. Common scenarios:

  • Waitlist approach: Order 10 books, start the club, order more if you have a waitlist
  • Phased rollout: Order enough for one group, then order more for a second group next quarter
  • Try-then-commit: Order 10 books for a pilot, then bulk up if it goes well

Just let us know your plans when you submit the request form.

Ideal size: 8-15 people.

  • Smaller (5-8): More intimate, easier to manage, but less diverse perspectives
  • Sweet spot (8-15): Great discussions, enough variety, still manageable
  • Larger (15-25): More energy, but harder to ensure everyone participates

For groups over 20, consider using breakout discussions or co-facilitators.
