A Hobby Group for People Curious About AI
Our free Facebook group, HowSeniorsLearnAI, is an online gathering place for seniors, caregivers, and friends who want to explore AI together.
It works like any other interest group on Facebook:
Some people are just getting started.
Some are “in the middle” and like to practice.
Some are more advanced and enjoy helping others.
You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be curious.
Group name: HowSeniorsLearnAI on Facebook.
What You’ll Find Inside the Group
As a member, you’ll see inside the group:
Weekly AI Tips – simple tips and prompts you can copy and paste into ChatGPT.
Short lessons and reminders—nothing too long or overwhelming.
Real stories and examples from other seniors using AI for daily life.
Encouragement when you try something new, even if it doesn’t go perfectly.
Friendly answers from Dan and from other group members.
- Live Q&A sessions from instructors and peers
You can participate a lot, or a little. It’s okay to just read and learn quietly.
Brand-New to AI? You’re in the Right Place.
Many people in the group are just taking their first steps with AI. Some worry they are “too far behind” or “not techie enough.”
If that sounds like you, this part is important:
If you like, start by watching and reading only.
You can ask questions in plain English, no fancy terms needed.
You can share a screenshot or photo of something confusing (with private info covered) and ask, “What should I do here?”
If you make a mistake, we treat it as a normal part of learning, not something to be embarrassed about.
No question is “too basic.” If it matters to you, it matters to us.
Already Comfortable with AI? Come Share Your Skills.
Some members are more advanced. Maybe you’ve used ChatGPT for months. Maybe you help friends and family with tech. You are very welcome here too.
In fact, we need you.
Ways advanced members can contribute:
Share helpful prompts you’ve used for real-life tasks.
Show before-and-after examples (for example, a confusing letter and the clearer AI explanation).
Gently answer beginner questions in kind, simple language.
Suggest new ways to use AI for hobbies, travel, health organization, and faith or community life.
You’ll help make the group stronger and more useful for everyone—and you may learn new tricks from other advanced users as well.

A Safe and Kind Place to Learn
We want this group to feel like a friendly coffee hour, not a crowded, noisy hallway.
Community Promises
Asking everyone to be kind and patient.
Not allowing spam, rude comments, or pushy sales.
Reminding people not to post private numbers like Social Security, account numbers, or passwords.
Encouraging everyone to double-check health, legal, or money questions with real doctors, lawyers, or financial advisors. AI is a helpful tool, but it’s not a doctor or professional advisor.
If you ever feel unsure about something in the group, you can message an admin or ask, “Is this safe?”
You’re never “bothering us” by asking. That’s exactly why we’re here.
We’d Love to Have You With Us
